Pixie Cut Month 5!

Month five! Gosh, it's almost been half a year! And to think that I was thinking my hair would never grow out :) Well, wait until you see this. I have beautiful, long, Rapunzel hair (to me, at least!). It even goes in a ponytail... kind of. Anyway, here's the picture!

It's a bob!!!! Finally! It took long enough, didn't it? Well, with a lot of bobby pins and vitamins and headbands, I made it past the worst part. My bangs are getting pretty long, but I'm kind of scared to go to the hairdresser to chop them off... besides, I like them this way! From here, it's just letting it all grow out. Phew! I guess that month six might be the end of my journey, since I should be comfortably in bob territory by then. One last update, and then I'll do a big recap! Keep faith, ye with short hair wishing to have long hair! It will get there! Just keep reminding yourself that it'll get better and stay away from those scissors!
Pixie Cut Month Six will be the last installment of this series, so I won't have an excuse not to post then lol. More reviews will be coming after that, and maybe even a video or two and a daily look tutorial!
Have an awesome day, readers! :)

Fancy: Besame Signature Compact Review!

I've found a new makeup item with a case worthy of a queen: Besame Signature Compact! This is a small, refillable powder compact in a fancy, and quite heavy gold casing. The compact itself is really sturdy, which gives it the impression of being quite secure. I've taken mine for several long, bumpy trips and the powder hasn't shattered yet (phew!). It's quite secure, even if the compact isn't so large.

(isn't that a beautiful compact?)

This is shade 01, Porcelain, which is a shade for very fair skin tones. I think that the other shades of powder are all generally cool toned, and they don't really have a large shade selection. They do have a lilac correcting shade, but I'm not sure how well that would. This compact retails for $42.00, and refills are $15.00 each.
This powder is very full coverage, so if you have flawless skin you could probably wear this as a powder foundation. If not blended properly, it does have a tendency to become kind of cakey, sadly. I find that if I wear it over a medium to full coverage foundation it will get cakey over the day. This powder runs on the very light side, so it'll be good for pale skinned girl (aka me in the winter). Since the compact is quite small, a larger powder/kabuki brush might not fit in the pan.
Overall, this is a great, full coverage powder to wear without a heavy foundation or over moisturizer. The only thing that bothered me was the small size of the pan and how expensive it is for such a small sized compact. Other than that, it was a lovely powder with a nice, silky finish! I liked it! :)

Pixie Cut Month Four!

Today's my last day at home before I leave for vacation (three whole weeks without my laptop... eek!!), so I figured I should get something up. Better than nothing, right? And since I've got a continuing segment, I decided to go with my Growing out A Pixie Cut!!! Here's the picture for month four:

It's so close to a bob that it's practically there! I just need a tiny little bit more length... so close, yet so far! I don't usually wear it over my ears, tucking it behind works better, but I might start to wear it like you see in the picture. It's at that somewhat awkward stage where it's halfway between bob and pixie cut, which can be hard to style sometimes. Head scarves, headbands, braids, and clips are all my best friends right now, especially for keeping my bangs out of my eyes! They're getting pretty long :)

Happy hair-growing! To all those growing out their pixie cut: don't lose faith! Your hair will grow! To help mine grow faster, I take a vitamin called Biotin, which helps your body use proteins. It actually has made a difference in how quickly my hair grows, which is so super duper awesome. :)

Busy, busy, busy!!!

I'm so very sorry for the lack of posts this summer! I haven't been able to get any pictures up because I left my camera at home (silly me!) and I've been so busy/tired all day, every day! Between skating, life, and packing I don't have very much time. I finish skating in two weeks, and after that I'll be home for five days, when I should be able to get some reviews up, hopefully. After that I'm gone for another three weeks on vacation with my family, and then I'm back for school! Hopefully, I should be able to post more often then.

Hope that you're having a lovely summer, though!

Pixie Cut Month Three!

Okay, here's the third of this installment. Let's get this show on the road, here's the picture!

As you can see, not much change from month two. However, my bangs have grown longer (long enough that if I comb them straight down, they'll completely cover my eyes) and the side parts completely cover my ears now. I think I'm approaching the awkward Beiber stage... if I'm not already there! To style this, I usually just put a cute headband in and use a bobby pin to keep my bangs out of my face. Although you can't see it, I recently got a cut in the back, so the hair at my neck is currently just past the bottom of my ears. It's about one length around my head, so I can start growing it out all at once now instead of just in chunks. *gulp!* I'll have another update soon, sometime in August. I missed a couple of months (so sorry about that! Life got in the way), but I'll try to update monthly from now on. Promise!

Until then, keep being awesome, my fellow blog readers! :)

Pixie Cut Month Two!

Sorry it's been so long between posts! I've just had time to settle in and shake off the jet lag... and then exams started! My free time will be far and few in between from now on, so posts will probably come only on weekends. But enough talk about exams and school and field trips, it's time for...
Growing out a pixie cut, month two! Here's the lovely picture (don't mind my funny face haha):

As you can see, there's now length in the front and in the back!!!! The back has definitely grown the most, and the side parts and now long enough to easily cover my ears. You can't see the side with my part, but that's gotten a lot longer. Don't mind the little cowlick I've got going on :P I always seem to get those! Month 3 should be coming soon!
Have a wonderful day!

PS. Sorry it took so long to get this up!

Awesome New Music!

Hey everybody... there are a couple of songs by an indie band that I just discovered that I want to share with you... Groenland! You may not have heard of them, since they just released their first album- The Chase. They have a very unique, yet soothing sound with hauntingly lovely vocals by the talented Sabrina Halde. The band is made up of six members, all playing various instruments and contributing to the band's unique sounds.
Here are some songs by them!

Enjoy!
